Building Relationships that Count.

“I strive to always be responsive to my clients’ needs and proactive in their planning. It is my goal to provide professional and timely services.”

Marvin has been with Melton & Melton since 1987 and has been a partner in the tax department since 1995. Before joining the firm, he spent two years as a staff accountant at Arthur Andersen & Co.

Concentrating mainly in the real estate, auto dealership, oil and gas services, construction, and manufacturing industries, Marvin provides estate planning and compliance services, consults on business succession matters, and addresses tax planning opportunities for stock options and deferred compensation plans. He has facilitated the restructuring of a client’s family assets and the implementation of a gifting program to dramatically decrease exposure to estate taxes and provide cash flow to the second and third generations.

Marvin is in charge of employee recruiting and hiring for the tax department.

Marvin attributes his success to a combination of working with good co-workers and good clients. He was inspired to pursue a career in this field by his high school accounting teacher.

Born and raised in Hamilton, Montana, Marvin currently resides in Houston with his wife of 30 years; together they have two children. Marvin enjoys the Houston area for the variety of opportunities it affords. In his free time, he enjoys cattle ranching and following college athletics.
